Thank You Artbooks
How do you say thank you to the teacher, coach, or special adult in your children’s life? A book of children’s art can be the perfect gift. We can take a group of children’s art and digitally reproduce it in an elegant hardbound book that will last a lifetime.
There is no more personal way to express appreciation for the care, attention, and dedication that teachers and coaches bring to their jobs.

Tips for working with children
Here are some easy steps for creating a terrific thank you artbook:
- Plan ahead. Don’t wait until the last minute. Allow plenty of time to plan and create the book, and for HeartBound to process the order.
- Enlist the help of an art teacher or other adult. Is there an art class that can be set aside for the project? Do kids attend an after-school program where they might work in a group? If you can organize a group activity, the project can be done in one or two sittings.
- Set a strict deadline. If you must rely on parents to deliver their child’s art, prod them often. Parents are busy and it isn’t easy keeping up with today’s many obligations.
- Give children a specific assignment. One option : Have each child draw a picture of the teacher and include some symbols that make the teacher special — for example, a guitar if the teacher likes music, a baseball if he’s a sports fan. You might pass around a photograph of the teacher.
- Limit the art medium. Some that work well: oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic paint, collage, chalk, crayon, fabric, and ceramics.
- Use one size paper and stick to one layout. We recommend 8.5 x 11-inch paper. Pick either a portrait or landscape orientation. This gives your artbook a nice consistency.
- Give children two simple guidelines. 1) Fill the page. 2) Use lots of color. Encourage children to draw to the edge of the paper and to splurge with color.
- Have the children sign their names! Artists always sign their names. This helps us keep track of the art, and it’s a nice touch.
